Dana Elaine Owens, better known as Queen Latifah in the US, is a performer and actress. The role of Queen Latifah in film, television and music has won numerous awards. This includes an Golden Globe Award two Screen Actors Guild Awards Two Image Awards A Grammy Award In addition, she has six Grammy Nominations Emmy Award Nomination and an Academy Award. Queen Latifah was born and was raised in Newark New Jersey the daughter of Rita a schoolteacher who worked for Irvington High School and Lancelot Owens, Jr. as a police officer. The couple split when Latifah was 10 years old. aged, was 10 years old. Latifah went to Catholic school, and she was educated in Newark New Jersey. She went to in the Baptist church.
