April Ross
April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball players to win medals at many Olympics. Ross will compete in Tokyo for her third Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman, a first-time Olympian. Ross is determined to earn more than her first Olympic medal. In fact, at 39, it could be her final chance to do so. Nevertheless, she remains confident of achieving top honours. Ross told NBC Boston that if they perform at their very best, and even play well her team could win a gold medal. In addition, I'll try some chances. Ross born in 1982 and lived in Costa Mesa California with her sister and parents, began competing in the sports of Newport Harbor High school. Ross went on to play in numerous sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. In addition to indoor volleyball, she was a basketball player and also ran track in her pre-college days. However, she was a standout at this level. Through her high school years, she played middle blocker, outside hitter and setter in the court for volleyball per her bio at the college. To honor her achievements, she received the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her for volleyball. Even though Ross and Klineman have been doing their thing since the year 2017, Klineman was already a big-time athlete on the beach even before the pair formed. In reality, she was a winner of numerous major events with two different partners, one of which is an icon of volleyball. From 2007 until 2013 she was in a partnership by Jennifer Kessy, who is now her coach. Together together with Kessy, Ross won an Olympic Title in 2009 when she competed internationally. This duo went on to win a silver in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends which took home the Olympic gold medal in 2012 in London, beat each other to take home the gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor after she had retired. Together, they won bronze medals in beach volleyball for the Rio Olympics in the year the year 2016. Ross began her collegiate career with the USC Trojans after graduation from high school. The Trojans were a few years away from when Ross went to the beach and became a pro. Her career was a success in college. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she earned Pac-10 and NCAA The Freshman of the Year honors and was an All-American. Additionally, she was an integral player in helping the Trojans make it to the Final Four. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore season however she was able to return her place as an All-American. Over her final two years as a player, she led the Trojans up to the summit by winning two consecutive national championships. In her own way, she cemented her place as a legend when she won the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the top female volleyball players at colleges across the United States. Ross played international relations as a student at USC. Margie Ross was never able to see her daughter's climb to the beach volleyball spotlight. Ross's mom passed away due to cancer of the breast when she was in her sophomore year at USC. Her mother is still close to her heart. Margie has been an inspiration throughout her life, as well as on the beaches.
